Activities Committee
The Activities Committee organizes special events and planned activities so that members have opportunities to gather several times during the year. These events include golf, fishing and bowling tournaments, holiday parties, receptions, football and baseball game tailgate parties, and other such activities.

The Activities Committee compiles a calendar of events for presentation at the Mid-Year Membership Meeting. These committee activities and events may be held in conjunction with other MPCA events and meetings.

Awards Committee
The Awards Committee meets annually to select the winners of the Red Loehr Chief of the Year award, the Howard Hoffman Scholarship award, the President's Citizen award and the MPCA Medal of Honor award. Recommendations for new awards or honors are submitted to this committee for consideration.
Community Oriented Policing (C.O.P.) Committee
The Community Oriented Policing Committee researches problem solving and C.O.P.'s techniques, surveys departments to monitor the progress of C.O.P.'s programs, and assist members with C.O.P.'s related training, model policies, and other assistance. The Committee works closely with the Training Committee to plan and promote the annual Midwest Community Oriented Policing & Problem Solving Conference held in February each year.
Conference Committee
The Conference Committee works with other organizations to plan the annual (Joint) Missouri Law Enforcement Conference and the committee members plan the Annual (May) and Mid-Year (Winter) Membership Meetings of the Association. This includes 51 selection of the meeting site, programming decisions, coordination with other law enforcement associations, exhibitors hall setup, entertainment, and speakers. The Committee works closely with the Training Committee to provide approved continuing education training during these conferences.
Constitution & Bylaws Committee
The Constitution Committee monitors policies and activities to make sure that the framework of the Constitution, MPCA's governing document, is protected. The committee is charged with screening resolutions from members regarding proposed changes or additions to the Constitution to make sure the revision is in proper format.

They may add a recommendation and/or fiscal note to a proposed amendment to help members understand the potential impact that passage of the amendment will have on the association's operations and the projected cost of implementing the amendment.

The Committee may request outside legal, accounting and other professional opinions before bringing forward a proposed amendment for a vote of the membership.

Amendments to the Constitution offered for the members' consideration must be submitted in writing to the Executive Director at least 60 days prior the membership meeting. The Director will publish the proposed Constitutional amendment to the membership 30 days in advance of the meeting and forward a copy of the proposed amendment to the Constitution Committee chairperson for review by the committee.

Policy decisions by the Board of Directors that fall within the frame of the Constitution and which may be enacted without a revision of the Constitution do not require a formal review by the Constitution Committee or vote of the membership.

Diversity Committee
The Diversity Committee researches and develops new programs that will increase racial and gender diversity within the ranks of Police Chiefs and law enforcement executives. MPCA believes that law enforcement departments and agencies should reflect the communities they serve. The Committee develops model policies, recruitment programs, basic training and continuing education courses to help all departments hire and train the qualified personnel they need, without regard for the officer's sex or race.
Legislative Committee
The Legislative Committee is responsible for identifying and developing legislative positions on issues of concern to law enforcement and the MPCA. Legislative Affairs is one of MPCA's major areas of interest and attention because the laws passed by the General Assembly and the regulations mandated by government agencies affect every law enforcement officer in Missouri.

In addition to representing MPCA, this Committee works closely with the Missouri Legislative Coalition (a federation of Missouri law enforcement agencies, organizations and associations). The MPCA Executive Director, Legislative Coordinator, and professional Government Affairs Counsel work closely with this committee to advance the Association's legislative and regulatory agenda.

Membership Committee
A strong Association needs active and enthusiastic members in order to remain strong. The Membership Committee develops programs to increase membership benefits and to maintain and increase membership. The committee presents applications for membership to the Board.
Nominating/Credentials Committee
The Nominating/Credentials Committee is made up of seven active members, appointed by the President from each of the seven regions of the state. They meet to review the credentials of candidates for office prior to the annual membership meeting and election of officers. Candidates appear before this committee and must satisfy its members that they are qualified for the position they wish to fill before their name is placed before the membership for a vote.
Resolution Committee
When a resolution is submitted for consideration at a business meeting of the Membership, the President appoints a committee of at least five members to serve on a Resolution Committee to determine if it is in proper form and is consistent with the Constitution prior to presentation for a vote.
Standards & Goals Committee
The Standards & Goals Committee is responsible for developing programs to advance the professionalism of police chiefs and law enforcement executives. The Committee monitors the activities of the Missouri Police Officers Standards & Training Commission, develops model policies for police departments through its L.E.A.F. sub-committee, and works to advance other programs such as accreditation of police departments by a voluntary state accreditation agency, certification and/or professional registration for executive and supervisory personnel, and other programs that raise the standards of Missouri's police chiefs and law enforcement executives.
Technology Committee
The Technology Committee assists members and their departments regarding the selection, purchase and proper use of emerging technology, reviewing vendors' information and testing sample equipment (upon request), and, in general, staying abreast of new technology and equipment and reporting any useful information to the membership through workshops, exhibits, and articles in the association's publications.
Torch Run Committee
The Torch Run Committee conducts Missouri's annual Torch Run. This event, which raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for Special Olympics each year, is a project that is near and dear to a great number of the members of the Association. The Torch Run Committee works closely with the Special Olympics staff and coordinates fund raising activities for hundreds of police departments around the state. Since 1987 this MPCA committee has raised over $1.S million for the Special Olympics cause.
Training Committee
Training is a necessary part of increasing the level of professionalism among members. Therefore, continuing education is one of MPCA's major areas of concentration. The Training Committee is responsible for all continuing education courses sponsored by MPCA. These programs include major seminars such as the Midwest C.O.P Conference, the Police Clerks Conference, and the Missouri Law Enforcement Conference.

The Committee also provides courses on specific topics and courses that MPCA co-sponsors with other organizations. MPCA also works closely with other groups on training issues, including the U.S. Department of Justice, the Missouri Department of Public Safety, the U.S. Attorney's Office, the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF), the International Association of Chiefs of Police and other State and Federal law enforcement organizations.

Because of the large number of training events each year, this committee is one of the most active groups within the organization. The MPCA staff, including the executive director and training director, works closely with the committee throughout the year. MPCA is an approved provider of P.O.S.T. continuing education for law enforcement officers in Missouri.

Ways & Means Committee
The MPCA constitution stipulates that the Treasurer is the chair of the Ways & Means Committee and that it is to consist of members to include the First Vice President, one member at large from the area east of Jefferson City, one member at large from the area west of Jefferson City, and two regional vice presidents. The at large members and the regional vice presidents are appointed by the President. The Ways & Means Committee reviews proposed operating budgets, investments, and other financial matters.
